  2. Her Early Life… • Lee was born on April 26, 1926 in Monroeville, Alabama • She grew up as a tomboy in a small town • The baby in a family of 4 children • Grew up as best friends with Truman Capote (a writer to be)

  3. Her Education… • Lee went to… • The all female Huntingdon College • The university of Alabama at Tuscaloosa • Was accepted into the university's law school • Earned no degrees but still followed her dream to become a writer

Her Major Life Events and Achievements … • She was best known for writing the Pulitzer Prize-winning best-seller, To Kill a Mockingbird which was her one and only novel • She later helped her best friend who was also a writer write a article for The New Yorker that later became his master piece • After graduating in 1944 she attended an all female Huntingdon College and became part of the literary honor society and the glee club • Moved to New York and became a writer like she always wanted to be

  5. Her Influences… • Living through the great depression and segregation, Lee’s writing reflected her life and what she experienced • She also used her parents and siblings to influence characters she created
