  1. Year 3 Excursion to Hebe Haven

  2. The purpose of the trip is to focus on: • overcoming challenges • building self confidence, • developing organizational skills • building stronger personal relationships through fun and safe activities. • preparing the children for the Year 4 camp experience next year.

  3. Activities include: • 45 minute hike to Trio Beach • Sailing experience • Lunch - junk cruise around Trio Beach, Sai Kung • Team building games (Mini Olympics) on Trio Beach

  4. Some of the details! • Date: Friday 4th December • Timings: 8:15am (drop off) – 4.15pm(pick up from KJS) • Clothing: School PE kit including, trainers, shorts, tracksuit bottoms and top and a warm waterproof jacket. Kit list provided!

  5. Kit list: (packed in a back pack – medium sized) • Change of clothing • Flip-flops or beach shoes • Towel • Hat • Water bottle • Sun cream and Mosquito cream (applied before school) • Food:Snack and Lunch (2 Substantial snacks for morning and afternoon. Lunch and drinks)

  6. Safety is the KEY PRIORITY! • This experience is purely a sailing introductory experience and will be a low risk activity. • Children will be wearing life jackets and helmets while sailing. • Qualified instructors 1:4 ratio • Only 8 boats on the water at once with 5 safety boats monitoring them closely. • One class on the water doing sailing at a time. • Life jackets will be worn on junk cruise. • At no time will children be required to be in the water. • Children will not be swimming. • We will not be doing any capsizing drills! • Coloured hats worn for identification!

  7. Weather considerations! • Adaptations will be made to the programme if it is too cold to ensure children are comfortable. • The excursion will be postponed if wet. • Parents will be notified about postponement prior to the day.
