Daily Procedures • Soft start • Electronic register taken at 8.55am • Lesson starts at 9am • Lining up at the end of the day (see map) • Late – Rainbow Room – ground floor In the interest of safeguarding: Please do not to approach the line until the class teacher has lined the children up. Please ensure that you inform the school if a different family member is collecting your child.

  5. Behaviour Policy • Rewards system – House points - Raffle tickets - Well done certificates - RFL extra playtime - Team time • Sunflower awards • Attendance • Sanctions – behaviour chart and lunch time room.

  6. What are we learning this year? Please see the Curriculum Map for the units of work we will be studying this term. We will send further information about what your child will be learning at the start of each term. Below are the IPC topics we are looking forward to throughout the year. Each topic will have an entry and exit point. The exit point will sometimes involve inviting parent/carers to celebrate the topic. Please refer to the IPC letter for more information.   7. Homework • Given out on Thursday, due back on Tuesday.

  8. Reading • When a child has finished a book, they will be responsible for changing them. • Children are encouraged to borrow a school library book. • Our library day is Monday for 3G, Tuesday for 3R. • If a library book is lost, please donate a book to the school. • Reading shared texts also takes place during guided reading and through shared texts.

  9. Helping your child at home • Reading – different texts, newspapers, magazines, ask children questions, encourage the use of a dictionary. • Practise times tables daily. By the end of Year 4, children should know the times tables up to 12. • Practise spellings daily • Revision on grammar terms • Mathletics

  10. School trips We plan to do some school trips this year. If we require parent/carers helpers it will be on the slip. We will give a slip to confirm if we would like your support on the trip.

  11. Assessment • On going teacher assessments throughout the year • Marking Policy – Green, Pink & Purple. • Parents will be given an update at each termly meeting of the progress across their child’s school life, socially and academically.

  12. Toilet Times • Children are encouraged to go at break times and lunch times. There is a 2 minute warning to remind children that play time is finishing.

  13. P.E Please make sure your child has a full P.E. kit for all weathers. Year 3 have P.E. on Wednesday afternoons. If your child does not have PE kit they must have a note.

  14. School Uniform • Children to have school uniforms clearly labelled with their name. • Please refer to the hand-out for information. • Miss Rodriguez will be in contact if children are not wearing the correct uniform.

  15. Shoes • Black shoes • Shoes can only be changed at lunchtime

  16. Punctuality and Attendance • Electronic register • Attendance cup – Early Bird competition – Any child who is always on time are put into a raffle. And can win a Lego voucher. • Club 98 Competition Any child who has attendance of 98%+ is also put into a raffle to win a prize. • Lessons start at 9am

  17. How Parents Can Help PE Kit - have it in school Bring homework to school on time Bring reading books/library books daily Encourage a good night’s sleep, have a nutritious breakfast and bring a water bottle. Be punctual.

If you need us… • We are all here to help, please catch us after school in the playground once all children are dismissed. • If information is confidential a meeting will have to be arranged. • Or email the school office to arrange a meeting or to give information. • Please inform the office with your contact details.

  20. Home-School AgreementPlease read over this as we have updated it from last year.You will only need to sign and return a copy if your child is new to the school. Please get this from the office.

E - Safety • www.thinkuknow.co.uk • Please talk to your child regarding the use of uploading images and videos to websites such as YouTube/musically. • Use parental controls, please see the website above for further information. • If you have any concerns regarding E – Safety please contact a member of staff.

For Year 3,4,5 and 6. • Facebook, Whatsapp, Instagram, Snapchat (anything else you know that they might be using). • There is an age restriction on these programs, UNDER 13s SHOULD NOT BE USING THESE PROGRAMS! • PokemonGo and games such as Grand Theft Auto which is only appropriate for children ages 18 and over - due to inappropriate language and content.

  24. Water bottles • Children are encouraged to drink regularly throughout the day. Bring me in daily!
