  2. What is EIP? The Early Intervention Program is a support program that serves students who are not reaching or maintaining Math or Reading grade level standards. EIP provides additional resources to help students obtain the necessary academic skills in order to reach grade level performance in the shortest time possible.

  3. EIP is NOT… • EIP is NOT Special Education. • EIP is NOT Special Education. • EIP services do NOT carry over from year to year. Students are not • automatically in the program each year. • EIP is NOT a permanent class. Students will exit the program as academic success is reached. • EIP does NOT take the place of regular classroom instruction. It is offered in addition to regular classroom reading and/or Math instruction. • EIP teachers do NOT give grades to students. Students remain in their classes for content classes and exit for additional support after classroom instruction is provided. We often refer to EIP as “double dosing”.

  4. PROGRAM BENEFITS • Instruction- Reading and/or Math • EIP classes offer a small group environment where specific skills are identified, targeted, offered intensive intervention, and growth is tracked.

  5. Exiting EIP • Students may exit EIP whenever academic achievement is reached. ALL STUDENTS are exited from EIP at the end of the school year. • Parent(s) may request that a child be exited from EIP during the school year. A letter must be written, signed, and submitted to the EIP teacher by the parent. This letter is placed in the child’s permanent record.
