  4. Reproduction in the Ocean There are many different types of species in the ocean world that they also include many different ways to reproduce each other. Like ,for example, sponges reproduce by budding – growing from the organism and then separating in the end of the process – and killer whales reproduce by mating with several different females in any time of the year. Octopus’s die after their eggs hatch because they spend most of their time watching over them since they were layed and squids die right after spawning – laying huge quantities of eggs in one time --. We all know that females give birth, but it’s sort of different for seahorses. The female seahorse transports the eggs into the male’s pouch. When all the eggs are safely inside the males pouch, he then fertilizes them. After three or four weeks, the male “gives birth”. So, reproduction in the ocean world is very complicated, as many things are in the world. Who is the “female” between the male and female seahorse?
