You cantheninsertcitations inaWorddocumentandgenerate a bibliography inthe citationstyle you require. • Creating New Library • FromEndNote’sFilemenu, chooseNew. • Selectthe location whereyou wouldlike tosave yourlibrary. Enter a name for the libraryand click [Save]. • Do notstore the libraryina cloudservice like Dropbox, OneDrive oriCloud.Thismightlead to librarycorruption. Note thatthe library ismade upof both an. • ENLfileanda corresponding.DATAfolder. Itisrecommendedthatyou maintainone library only.

MAKINGABACKUPCOPYOFALIBRARY • Openthe libraryinEndNote. • FromtheFilemenu,selectCompressLibrary (.enlx). • Make sure thatthe options With File Attachmentsand All Referencesin Libraryare selected. • Choose the location where you wouldlike tosave your backupcopy. Entera name andclick • [Save]. The backup copy includesboth the .ENLfileaswell asthecorresponding.DATAfolder.

  6. Manually Entering References • Importing PDF file to create new reference. • EndNoteisable to importa PDFfile andautomaticallycreate a newreferenceforitin your library. The PDFfile will be attached to the reference. • Note thatthe PDFfilemust be publisher-createdandcontainaDOI (Digital ObjectIdentifier)to import. • Make sure that yourlibraryisopen. x

Find full text for Reference • EndNotecanattemptto locate full textfilesforthe references. • Once found, EndNote downloads andattachesthe filesto the references. • Make sure that yourcomputer is connectedto the networkatNTNU. Highlightthe reference(s)to which you wantto addfull text. • FromtheReferencesmenu, selectFindFullText> Find FullText orclickontheserach button Whena full textfileisdownloadedandattachedtoa reference, a paperclip iconappears.
