  2. Purpose of Evaluation • To improve the services we provide to our Science Teacher Mentors, Cadre Members and Instructional Team Members. • To demonstrate our impact on students and teachers to funding agencies.

  3. Two Levels to Evaluation • Documentation • Number of people trained • Demographics of participants • Contents of professional development • Contact hours and college credit • Impact • On teachers • On students

  4. Documentation • All educators trained must complete a TRC Participant Data Form. • All professional development should include an • Agenda • Sign-in sheet. • All STM data must be entered into the TRC online database by your Regional Collaborative. • All CM and administrator data forms can be sent in hard copy to the TRC office for entry into the online database.

  5. Teacher Impact • Every Regional Collaborative must administer a Bridging II TAKS pre-survey and post-survey to teachers trained in BIITAKS Module 1: Light and Optical Systems. • The same survey can be used for both STMs and CMs. • Survey measures • preparation to implement lessons addressing concepts in BIITAKS in the classroom (STMs and CMs) • preparation to deliver training to other teachers on BIITAKS (STMs only).

  6. Impact on Teacher Science Content Knowledge

  7. Student Impact - TAKS • Regional Collaboratives with access to regional and local TAKS data are strongly encouraged to track TAKS scores of teachers, campuses, or districts that participate in TRC professional development and compare them to non-participants.
