Symposia Development Process • Symposia selected at Inter-Congress meeting • Symposia development • Executive Committee assigns co-convener to each symposium • Develop one paragraph summary by convener to WCSS web site – due July 1, 2004 • Summary is reviewed and edited by co-convener and revision posted to web – completed August 1, 2004 • Convener can review final version on web • Summary submitted to SSSA and Chair International Scientific Subcommitee - September 1, 2004

Finalizing Symposia • Title-Summary submissions due by January 16, 2006 • Author identifies 1st and 2nd choice symposium • Author identifies preference for oral/poster paper • Symposium convener and co-convener review title-summary and select oral presentations • Consider geographic balance for oral • Move other papers to relevant poster session • Co-convener notify authors oral/poster status by March 1, 2006 • Abstracts due to SSSA by April 10, 2006
