Statement of Purpose Faculty: Civil Engineering Department of Environmental and Water Resources Engineering Degree: Master Degree To Whom It May Concern: I successfully completed my undergraduate studies in June 2018 at JAZEERA UNIVERSITY FROM MOGADISHO Somalia. I graduated with a CGPA of 81.15 out of 3.0. during JUNE 2018 and October Bachelor's Degree in Agricultural Science when I was his direct Supervisor. During his Bachelor's Degree research, he was responsible for the research on “THE CAUSES OF POSTHARVEST LOSSES IN MAIZE AND THEIR EFFECTS ON PROFITABILITY OF SMALL-SCALE FARMERS IN AFGOI DISTRICT.” I am writing to apply for the Scholarship Environmental and Water Resources Engineering. In Agriculture program, in which I am enormously interested. The degree from one of the most respected universities is my chance to enrich my knowledge and professionally outgrowth thereby contribute to the development of the country and the strengthening of the values of Agricultural and fundamental of Environmental and Water Resources Engineering, improving farmers by contributing the development of country in my native country and a whole world. I am a farmer activist, public farmer of my own and students’ community, bachelor in agricultural science. Somali is my native country. My country is an independent and large state. It is developing but it has a lot of problems of irrigation system. By observing and analyzing these problems I will research that every problem’s well-being depends on a solution of Environmental and Water Resources Engineering management problems. The master program will provide me with an opportunity to learn more about higher education and prepare me to be a senior level college of agriculture. I have had several educational and life fulfilling opportunities to work with many Irrigations to help contribute to the field. Due to the nature of this program; I believe it will provide me with an opportunity to
continue to be a catalyst not only within higher education, but my community as well. In addition, this program will help me further my understanding of first-generation Somali students’ expectations and knowledge about college prior to enrolling in their respective institutions by participating in master programs. My professional goals are to learn as much as I can about higher education that would strengthen my awareness about trends within the field and how I can contribute to the overall mission and purpose of the profession. I would like to someday become of students or vice president for student services as well as a faculty. I believe my past and current experiences have prepared me. Personally, I am an adventurous person who loves visiting and fitting into new environments. I enjoy meeting new people of diverse cultures because the experiences English my interpersonal and communication skills which I believe are the main things that contribute to my growth as a social person. During my break from college, I became more involved in my community by farmer and volunteering at organizations. After graduation I secured a job as a farmer and evaluation assistant at university, the job is mainly centered on Irrigation skills as Environmental and Water Resources Engineering of research tools agricultural. The job has helped me build practical skills in irrigation research. STUDY IN MY PLAN After completion of my master's studies, I hope to be able to take part in maximizing my country's agriculture research in such fields to benefit its agricultural Environmental and Water Resources Engineering, this will contribute to a sound farmer that will in turn improve the poor living standards of the farmers. I believe that this Master’s Program will provide me with a solid understanding of the fundamental tools of water analysis that are employed to conduct rigorous research of Environmental and Water Resources Engineering policies. I hope that I can gain more experience in dealing with situations, people, and demands which will be of a great help in my future career.
I have a lot of experience of irrigation drip, sprinkler and furrow irrigation at list three years’ experience. Environmental and Water Resources Engineering analysis, both theoretical and empirical, can generate important insights into individual and aggregate behavior and relationships, and help in society's efforts to use water resources in a more efficient manner for the sake of development. Such knowledge and skills will enable me to attempt to explore some of the economic challenges’ peculiar to some of the poorest countries in the world. By acquiring such skills, I will have the opportunity to apply the tools of agricultural engineering analysis to the problems and challenges facing farmer, and to begin to understand why my country has not been able to go through a process of plant pathology and agricultural development. REASONS TO STUDY IN Mahidol University. Mahidol University’s heavy investment in education has resulted in provision of high- quality education and its universities have high reputation which makes a great aspiration to the students and professionals for the better career perspectives. As someone whose sole interest lies in irrigation, Thailand being an agricultural powerhouse provides the perfect environment for the study and research in irrigation. Mahidol University will provide me an opportunity to meet imminent researchers in this field and to be part of its research community will allow me to acquire invaluable transferable skills which I can irrigation and apply in my country. The fact that Mahidol University is promoting love and peace with country makes it a comfortable destination to pursue a Master’s degree in Environmental and Water Resources Engineering.
