  1. Statement of Purpose Bay Area Women’s Center- Bay City Founded in 1975 Mission: to eliminate domestic violence and sexual assault in their community Michigan, 2012: 4,589 cases of forcible rape 29,210 cases of aggravated assault Bay County, 2012: 1,561 victims were affected in crimes against a person

  2. Statement of Purpose • Goals: renovate dining room to make it more of a happy place for the survivors by adding brand new tables, chairs, television trays and blinds, also a chalk wall in the dining room. In the toy room, we are adding a fish tank, and in the resident halls we are adding white boards outside each of the resident’s doors. • This is a good idea because these people are survivors of a terrible thing and they deserve a warm, happy place to get back on their feet. The dining tables are unsteady, the blinds are broken and the kids do not have many toys in the dining area. The poor quality of the dining area does not feel like a dining space a person would find in a home.
