New regimes in western Europe • Liberal democracy spread throughout this region • New leaders emerged in Europe to prevent the reoccurrence of an economic depression and world war. • The Welfare State • Most if not all the countries around Germany were independent • Decolonization was decreasing and nations began to govern themselves and stabilize their economy, social structures, ect.
