You will be captivated by Pokhara’s stunning beauty, which features breathtaking mountain views and serene lakes. Starting from Pokhara (820m / 2,690ft), you can admire the spectacular scenery. On the second day, you’ll drive from Pokhara through Birethanti (1,039m / 3,250ft) to Tikhedhunga, where the actual trek commences. The trail from Tikhedhunga winds through paddy fields alongside the Modi River, leading to Ulleri (1,540m / 5,050ft), your destination for the day. The following day, your trek will take you to Ghorepani (2,860m / 9,385ft), which offers stunning views of the Annapurna range, Dhaulagiri, Tukuche, Dhampus, Nilgiri, Barash Shikhar, and Machhapuchhare (Fishtail). The fourth day is particularly special as you’ll reach the famous Poon Hill viewpoint (3,210m / 10,525ft). Rising early, you’ll hike to Poon Hill to witness the sunrise over more than 32 ranges of the Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, and Nilgiri. After enjoying the breathtaking panoramas from Poon Hill, you’ll head to Tadapani (2,630m / 8,630ft) for the night. After spending the night in Tadapani, you’ll set off early for Chomrong (2,165m / 7,105ft), passing through Ghandruk and descending to the Kirmron River before continuing your hike to Chomrong, a popular overnight stop for ABC trekkers.
The next day begins in Chomrong, where you’ll have breakfast before trekking to the Himalayas (2,890m / 9,425ft). The trail follows the Chomrong River through picturesque villages and ascends the Modi River Valley, culminating in a night’s stay in the Himalayas. On the seventh day, you’ll leave the Himalayas and hike to the Annapurna Base Camp (ABC), situated at 4,130m. The Base Camp offers incredible views of glaciers and mountain ranges, including Hiunchuli, Annapurna South, Annapurna I (8,097m/26,566ft), Gangapurna, Khangsar Kang, Annapurna III, and Machhapuchhare. You will spend the night at the Base Camp. The next day involves retracing your steps out of the Annapurna Sanctuary to Bamboo, a serene stop where you’ll stay for the night. From Bamboo, you’ll trek to Jhinu Danda (1,780m / 6,393ft) the following morning, home to natural hot springs where you can relax and rejuvenate. On the tenth day, assuming all goes as planned, you’ll leave Jhinu Danda and follow the Modi Khola to reach Ghandruk Phedi (1,150m / 3,770ft). From there, a drive via Nayapul will bring you back to Pokhara, where you’ll spend your final night in the trekking region at a hotel. The next morning, you’ll return to Kathmandu on a tourist bus. The Annapurna Base Camp trek is not particularly strenuous and provides an opportunity to witness the unmatched natural beauty of the Himalayan (Annapurna) region, with the Base Camp itself situated at a relatively moderate altitude of 4,130m.
