Calming down a screaming head is perhaps the toughest job for most of us. People often rely on over-the-counter painkillers for this purpose. If you belong to this category, there is good news; Ayurveda. It has an in-depth system that deals with the root causes of headaches and ways to eliminate them. Here are six Ayurvedic remedies for calming that scream in your head ● Clay and rosewater Grind clay and pour a few drops of rosewater into it. Apply the paste in the affected area. It will stop that throbbing pain inside your head. ● Brahmi The herb is known for its cooling effect. Mix it with ghee and prepare a paste. Apply it in the nostrils. This is an effective medicine for tension headaches. You can also massage your head with Brahmi. ● Ginger Ginger is often hailed as an elixir for those suffering from headache. It eliminates the inflammation in the blood vessels inside your head. As a result, you get relief from that throbbing pain. Ginger also boosts digestion thereby stopping nausea on its track. Mix equal amounts of lemon juice and ginger juice. Drink it twice a day for one week. You can also mix ginger in tea. ● Lavender Lavender relaxes your mind and is a powerful treatment for stress-related headaches. Take one tablespoon of olive oil and pour a few drops of lavender in it. Massage your forehead with the solution. You may also pour a few drops of lavender oil on a handkerchief and inhale. Doing this soothes the nervous system and eases headache. Experts say that this is a great medicine for migraines.

  2. ● Monitor what goes into your mouth Certain food items can trigger headaches; show studies. Prepare a food diary. Note down the items that trigger that pounding head and avoid them.
