  1. Your Guide to MBBS Abroad destinations that are Still Safe With the Ukraine Russia conflict gaining steam and heading to be a full-blown war, students seeking to pursue an MBBS in abroad might feel they are running out of options as 2 of the biggest ones are currently inaccessible. This post tends to highlight that this is not the case. It mentions some equally good options abroad, which are still open to students seeking to pursue their higher medical studies outside India. A comparison between 2 such destinations i.e. Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan is, therefore, the one that such students currently need. Getting a Visa A large number of Indian aspirants consider both Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan to be their dream MBBS destinations. However, a VISA is the most important document to ensure that they reach there. Thus, it also becomes important to have the necessary visa-related information of both countries. The common factors of both visas are their validity, which is a total of 90 days, and the fact that the processes for both are “completely online”. This stands true for the student visas for both countries. Students seeking to pursue an MBBS in Kyrgyzstan have the option to get a “Visa-on-Arrival” as well. The Kyrgyz government also offers “e-Visas”, especially to students. All that they require for a visa in both cases are passport size photographs and their passport (preferably with a validity of at least 2 years)

  2. An MBBS in Kazakhstan is also easy to get as the entire process takes a total of 7-8 days, right from “applying for visa” to “dispatching it to the student”. Fees of MBBS Considering that budget is one of the most important factors influencing the decisions for many, it’s important to know about the fees of MBBS in the universities of both countries. In this case, both countries offer an affordable enough fee structure for the students. However, the students pursuing MBBS in Kyrgyzstan have a slight edge/advantage as the fee here begins as low as INR 14 Lakh. This is for the entire 5-year program (soon-to-be 5.8 years) and includes the total tuition, accommodation, and miscellaneous fees. Compared to this, the fee for MBBS in Kazakhstan begins at around INR 15 Lakh at the lowest. One good thing that is similar in both cases is that students won’t have to worry about any donations and/or capitation fees in addition to the above. FMGE Passing Percentage This is where MBBS in Kazakhstan trumps its competitor, with an extremely impressive FMGE passing percentage of 84.06% till 2021 on average. Compared to this, only around 20% of the students pursuing MBBS in Kyrgyzstan pass this Indian licentiate exam. Adhering to the NMC Gazette 2021 Since the NMC released their Gazette in 2021 pertaining to MBBS in abroad, there have been major questions on the validity of these degrees in India.

  3. The good news is that most of the guidelines are met by both the prospects we are discussing here. These include - •The entire curriculum to be taught in the English language •The universities to offer medical internships of at least 1 year. However, both these prospects falter on the duration part, which does not meet the minimum prescribed one by the NMC, which is 54 months/4.5 years (excluding the 1-year internship) Kyrgyzstan, however, is planning to increase the duration of its courses to 4.8 years. These will make the total course duration 5.8 years long, which meets the NMC gazette requirements. As Indian students contribute both educationally and financially to Kazakhstan as well, a step like this is expected from them soon. MBBS in abroad is still a safe option with a lot of potential, and this post is proof of that!
