  1. Ways in which MBBS in Russia is Better than MBBS in India It’s not a choice but rather a compulsion on the part of many Indian medical students to move abroad in order to pursue higher medical studies. Out of the many destinations offering MBBS Admission Abroad, Russia is the most sought-after as it offers a quality that doesn’t just exceed those of other nations but of India as well. This post tries to cover the most important points that effectively reflect why Russia is a superior option as compared to India, in terms of higher medical education. Fees-wise It might come as a surprise for many but Russian medical universities are a much cheaper option as compared to Indian ones (barring government universities). On average, the total fees in a private Indian medical university start from INR 30-40 Lakh for the entire program, and can even go up to INR 90 Lakh- 1 Crore. On the other hand, an MBBS in Russia shall cost you a fraction of the above price. In fact, the tuition fees here start from a total of INR 14 Lakh, while even the total MBBS fees cost somewhere around INR 20-25 Lakh for the entire 6-year medical program. What’s more! Not even a singleRussian university charges any additional payments like donations and/or capitation fees. This is one of the major reasons that make the Indian medical universities over-budget for many medical aspirants. Quality of Classes By “quality of classes”, one doesn’t just mean the infrastructure but also the pedagogy in said classes. Here too, Russia outshines India, and the points mentioned below are reasons why this is the case!

  2. First and foremost, the classes are designed keeping in mind the volume of students any university enrolls. Thus, instead of crowded classes like in Indian universities, every top Russia medical university has a maximum teacher-student ratio of 1:15 or 1:20. This automatically improves the learning experience of students attending the classes. Moreover, these classes are high-tech, fitted with the latest audio-visual technology to make the classes more interesting. The interactive part is ensured by an experienced faculty that uses classes, lab sessions, group discussions, presentations, and a whole lot more innovative techniques. Indian medical universities do have these provisions but at a much lesser degree than Russian universities. The former is more theory-heavy. Global Connect This one should be a no-brainer! When taking MBBS admission abroad in Russia, students don’t just sign up for world-class educational and related services but will also be guaranteed an expanded worldview. This is primarily because Russian medical colleges see students coming from around the world. Thus, from the very 1st year of MBBS, Indian students will have to learn to work with people of different nationalities and ethnicities. Apart from this, every Russia medical college is updated with the latest global norms and practices in medicine. This is due to its involvement in the Bologna Process, ECFMG, FAIMER, and other international organizations.

  3. Eligibility Cut-Offs There’s not much to say here! Only that the eligibility criteria, particularly the entry cut-offs are a major reason why many Indian medical aspirants prefer a Russia medical college as compared to Indian universities. In 2021, the NEET cutoff required for getting an affordable medical fee was 600+. Any marks below that would require students to pay higher fees, as mentioned above. Compared to this, the cutoff for MBBS abroad was 130 (General) and 108 (Reserved). All in all, pursuing an MBBS degree in Russia is actually a much better option as compared to doing one in India. The points that have been mentioned above are clear enough pieces of evidence in favor of MBBS in Russia over MBBS in India.
