More pension plans put on watch list • As of early December 2012, there were more than 125 plans on the list, up from 115 at the end of March and 49 at the end of March, 2011. • Canada’s financial regulator has “serious concern” about the viability of a rising number of private pension plans, a sign that plans are struggling to meet obligations at at time of low interest rates and weak investment returns.
