Sometimes your car makes weird noises, if you hear that, immediately come to Ulmer's Auto Care. Here, are some issues could cause your vehicle to produce irregular noises.

  3. Reasons: 1 DAMAGED BRAKES: The most common reason for noise coming from under your car is worn or failed brakes. The drum brake shoe and the brake pads are top facilitators of grinding noises. These noises are generally caused when the brake innings have worn out and the steel brake rotor is rubbing against the metal brake pad. So causes a metal-to-metal contact when the brakes are applied, resulting in a grinding noise.

  4. DAMAGED WATER PUMP: 2 If the grinding sound is not coming from your car's brakes, then it only happens when you turn the engine on. It is a sign that you have a problem with your water pump. The grinding noise coming from the water pump is typically due to the worn-out bearings of your car.

  5. 3 WORN CLUTCH: If you hear a sound while changing gears, it seems like a problem with your car's clutch. The work of the clutch is to separate the engine from the wheels allowing you to change your gears. It is a combination of a flywheel, clutch plate, and pressure plate. Any issues with all or any of these components can create grinding noise and other problems.
