  1. THE EXCELSIS SCHOOL OF MUSIC Newsletter Newsletter Newsletter JULY 2025 PRINCIPAL’S UPDATE PRINCIPAL’S UPDATE Welcome to the very first edition of The Excelsis School of Music newsletter! We’re excited to launch this as a regular way to share news, updates, and celebrations from across our music community. As we reach the end of a wonderful year, I feel incredibly proud reflecting on all that our pupils have achieved. Throughout the year, we’ve held a number of concerts where our pupils truly shone —performing with confidence, creativity, and joy. A particular highlight was the Christmas Carol Singing at a local care home, where the children brought festive cheer to the residents. (Check out our Facebook page for flashbacks of those special moments!) I would also like to extend my heartfelt thanks to all parents for your continued support, and to our fantastic team of teachers and office staff for making this such a successful and eventful year. Looking ahead to September, we’re excited to introduce an even wider range of music courses as part of our ongoing commitment to a holistic approach to music education. Many of these new offerings will be free of charge, so watch this space! Those who attended their auditions came out beaming with pride—we're eagerly waiting to hear some good news!   2. CELEBRATING OUTSTANDING PROGRESS We’re proud of every pupil’s journey—whether they are just beginning or reaching advanced levels. Our goal is always to help each child grow in confidence and achieve their full potential at their own pace. Sometimes, that journey leads to exceptional exam success that deserves to be celebrated! ? Aidin completed his Grade 5 exam just six months after passing Grade 4—a fantastic achievement. ? Elina successfully achieved her Grade 5 exam only seven months after earning her Grade 3, skipping Grade 4 entirely. ? Samuel gained his Grade 3 qualification just four months after securing Grade 2, showing great dedication and focus. While exam results are never our only focus, we are thrilled to see what’s possible when talent, hard work, and the right support come together. E-MUSICMAESTRO E-MUSICMAESTRO Did You Know? All pupils at our music school have free access to E‑MusicMaestro, an outstanding online aural training platform used by teachers and exam candidates across the UK. Designed to support ABRSM and Trinity exam preparation, it offers interactive exercises, instant feedback, and progress tracking—making aural practice at home easier and more effective. This special perk has been available for over a year, but we’ve noticed not everyone is making the most of it. Each pupil has been assigned their own login and password, which was emailed by our office. If you need help accessing your account, just email us at admin@excelsismusic.co.uk. Regular aural practice between lessons can make a huge difference—so we really encourage all families to take advantage of this valuable resource! www.e-musicmaestro.com ? FREE SUPPLEMENTARY ? FREE SUPPLEMENTARY CLASSES CLASSES Every ESM pupil receives a free supplementary class alongside their individual lessons. These fun group sessions support wider musical development—from listening skills to theory and ensemble playing—all included as part of their learning journey.   3. NEW IN SEPTEMBER: NEW IN SEPTEMBER: ABRSM GRADE 5 MUSIC THEORY CLASS JOIN THE BAND SECOND INSTRUMENT? ? Join the Band! Does your child play piano, guitar, bass, drums, or sing? If so, we’d love them to be part of our music school band! This is a fantastic opportunity to develop ensemble skills, make new friends, and experience the fun of playing music together. Let your child explore something new with a free group trial lesson in guitar, harp, or violin this September. It’s a fun and relaxed way to try a second instrument. You won’t know until you’ve tried it! If your child has passed grade 4 or 5 level on a musical instrument, it’s time that they should start preparing for their grade 5 music theory exam.
