As Google’s first motive to provide the valuable information to the users with the help of the web as it’s disclose new tool “Dataset Search” to access millions of millions datasets on the web. This new “Dataset Search” tool help people to find the data according to their needs or help to meet their requirements. “Scientists, Data Journalists, Data Geeks or anyone else can find the data required for their work and their stories, or simply to satisfy their intellectual curiosity.”, said Natasha Noy, Research Scientist at Google AI in Mountain View, California. Most of the time you have great idea to execute your plan for your next project but unable to find the exact dataset. Google find out the solutions in the form of “Dataset Search”, this tool enable the new and effective way to finding open datasets stored across the thousands of repositories on the web but it’s still in the beta version. The big tech giant Google opens a new door to find out broad datasets in environmental and social sciences along with data from other sources like government, news organizations and much more. Google explained the benefits of this new search engine in the example of “daily weather”:

  2. It’s find datasets wherever they’re hosted, whether it’s a publisher’s site, a digital library, or an author’s personal web page. For provide the accurate and right information to the users, Google developed guidelines for dataset providers to describe their data in a way that Google and other search engines can better understand the content of their pages, said Noy in a blog post. These guidelines include such notable information about the datasets – who created the datasets, when it was published, how the data was collected, what the terms are for using the data, etc. Google encourage big and small data providers to follow this common standard to describing information. Then Google collect and link this information, analyze where different versions of the same dataset might be, and find publications that may be describing or discussing the dataset. As Google always promote to provide the appropriate information as its new search engine supports multiple languages. As its gaining more exposure Google introduce more languages to provide the right dataset, works like any other search engine.
