  1. Keep Your Feet En Pointe with our Exclusive Punjabi Juttis Punjabi Jutti, a footwear common in North India and of Punjabi origin was conventionally made up of leather, extensive embroidery and in real gold and silver threads. There are various local styles as well, like Lahori, Peshawari and Kasoori Jutti along with Punjabi Jutti. The state of Punjab enjoys pride in a long and affluent heritage of detailed leather crafts that range from leather stools, handbags, Kolhapuris and Juttis. These are quite popular not just in Punjab but also in other states like Karnataka, Maharashtra, Delhi, and Rajasthan. Along with India they are liked and worn by people all over the world. These Juttis are embroidered delicately and their origin dates back to the reign of the Kings and Queens. In that era, these intricate Juttis were beautified with real silver and gold threads and highlighted with invaluable and semi precious pearls and gems. However, with the passage of time, gold and silver embroidery was substituted with artificial embellishments like bells, beads etc. which brought them in the reach of the common man. Dead skin of camel, cow or buffalo was used to make the soles of the Juttis whereas the upper part of the Jutti consisted of any simple textile or leather. Both these parts combine together using an adhesive paste and then stitched using cotton threads, preferably white in color. Popularity of the Jutti 1. Juttis gathered popularity from Punjab to across the world for their bewildering designs and durability. Among the foremost reason behind such wide recognition is that the artisans do not undermine on the quality and the robustness of this ethnic footwear. Even though the silver and gold threads making the Juttis more beautiful and attractive are replaced by other affordable materials, the second reason for them to be so popular is that they are uncommonly light in weight. Also as the saying goes that these shoes should be so light that even sparrows can fly away with them!
