  1. Different Types Of General Finishes Top Coats For achieving the desired results, it is vital to choose the right Topcoat. A general finishes topcoatcan be used for interior applications. It offers different types of topcoat that are classified under water-based and oil-based. Each of the topcoats by general finishes comes in a variety of sheens such as; Satin, Flat, Gloss, and Semi-Gloss. Each top coat is known for a variety of reasons along with serving a different purpose. The General Finishes Exterior 450 Topcoat is a water-based topcoat that is used for exterior applications, while High Performance is water based topcoat that is used for interior applications. On the other side the oil-based polyurethane, Arm-R-Seal is similar to Minwax. Similarly, there are various other types of topcoats that help to provide good adherence to the undercoat and give a resinous seal over the primer. Some different types of general finishes topcoats are as such:- General Finishes Arm-R-Seal:- It is an oil-based topcoat that is loved by the woodworking world. It is a traditional, as well as high-quality oil-based polyurethane made with urethane resin. This oil-based general finishes topcoat is long-lasting and is known for its durable nature. General Finishes Arm-R-Seal can be brushed, sprayed, or wiped on easily and perfectly with a rag for producing a beautiful finish. This topcoat works easily and penetrates to provide a natural look and deep protection. It ambers/darkens with time and requires a minimum of 3 coats. Arm-R-Seal topcoat is perfect for interior application and is best for detailed pieces as well as any size project. High-Performance Top Coat:- the High-performance topcoat is used by the professional finishers to fine-tune the color and getting a perfect match every time. It is one of the most popular top coats which is water-based and, gives a high-performance finish. The high-performance topcoat is perfect for furniture that needs a tough finish such as cabinets. This topcoat is known for its water clear finish. It does not impart the amber color to the wood, like an oil-based topcoat. Just like the Arm-R-Seal topcoat It too requires a minimum of 3 coats and is perfect for interior application only. This low odor topcoat generally takes 2 hours to dry for the recoat and can be tinted or toned with the use of a General Finishes Dye Stain. It can be applied by spraying or with a foam or synthetic bristle brush.

  2. General Finishes Enduro-Var:- Enduro-Var is a water-based self-crosslinking polyurethane. This water-based urethane is created to bridge the gap between an oil-based and water-based topcoat. This type of topcoat dries fastly and requires a minimum of 2-3 recoats. This low odor topcoat produces a beautiful amber finish and is ideal for any size project and detailed pieces. It also darkens with time. General Finishes Exterior 450:- General Finishes Exterior 450 is a topcoat designed for exterior wood applications. This type of topcoat works perfectly for garage doors, outdoor kitchens, patio furniture, interior windows, and entrance doors. But is not suggested as a deck finish. This type of general finishes topcoat can be used on fiberglass and wood, and to top coat General Finishes Milk Paint. It works more perfectly when applied with a foam brush or synthetic bristle brush.
