  1. Feel the Nature at Barbados The Barbados Nature Reserve is so much better than a zoo, guests are free to enjoy the wildlife uninterrupted by cages and fencing. The reserve is located in the northern parish of St Peter across the road from Farley Hill National Park. The reserve gives you the opportunity wonder freely through the park watching the animals in their natural environment up close in a safe environment, well worth a trip out from your villa in Barbados. The self-guided tour allows you to spend as much time as you want with the animals, and even go and revisit some of your favourite. Some of the animals are quite shy, such as the deers, so you have to walk quietly and watch closely if you want to spot them. The star attraction of the reserve is the Barbados Green Monkey, which are extremely popular. The monkeys are fun and entertaining, especially at feeding time when they search for their food. The monkeys are free to leave the reserve whenever they choose so are technically still wild, which is nice to see, but often will come back to the park for food and the lush surroundings. Another favourite attraction is the walk through a very experience where you will be able to see a huge variety of colourful birds including love birds, parrots and macaws. There are also some more common birds and children will love the many ducks waddling around on the enclosure floor.

  2. Reptile lovers can get excited about the huge collection of snakes and other crawling creatures such as turtles and iguanas. Other animals you might spot include agouti, caiman, and even rabbits. Once you have spent some time in the park, your entrance fee will also give you admission to the Grenade Hall Forest and Signal Station, so make sure you don't miss out, especially if you are a history or a nature lover. The attraction is made up of a restored historic signal station and well marked paths that will guide you around the forest. You can explore at your own pace and admire the tropic fauna and flora before heading back to your Barbados villa rental after a day well spent.
