  1. Introduction to Environment by Group A

  2. What is Environment? Definition Components Interactions Everything that surrounds us, including all living and non-living elements and conditions that affect organisms. Composed of Biotic (living: plants, animals, microorganisms) and Abiotic (non-living: sunlight, water, air, soil, temperature, minerals) elements. These components are interconnected, forming complex ecosystems. Environmental health relies on the balance of these interactions. Example A forest exemplifies this: trees, animals (biotic) and sunlight, soil, air (abiotic) interact to sustain life.

  3. Natural vs. Man-made Environment Natural Environment Man-made Environment Formed by nature: mountains, rivers, oceans, forests. Untouched beauty. Created by humans: buildings, roads, bridges, cities. Our creations.

  4. Environmental Components Our environment comprises interconnected spheres, vital for sustaining life and planetary balance. Atmosphere Lithosphere Earth's air (nitrogen, oxygen); essential for breathing, radiation protection, and climate. Earth's solid crust (land, rocks, soil); provides ecosystem foundations and essential minerals. Hydrosphere Biosphere All water on Earth (oceans, rivers, lakes); crucial for life, climate, and shaping the planet. The global sum of all ecosystems; where life exists and interacts. Earth's delicate web of life. These spheres constantly interact, exchanging matter and energy. Water cycles through them, sustaining our dynamic environment.

  5. Importance of Environment Provides Resources Air to breathe, water to drink, food to eat. Maintains Balance Keeps ecosystems healthy and functioning. Supports Life Home for all living things and biodiversity.

  6. Human Impact on Environment Pollution Deforestation Climate Change Air, water, soil, and noise pollution. Cutting down forests, destroying habitats. Rising temperatures, extreme weather.

  7. Environmental Problems Global Warming Earth getting hotter. Ozone Layer Depletion Thinning protective shield. Loss of Biodiversity Animals and plants disappearing. Waste Management Too much trash, not handled well.

  8. Need for Environmental Protection Why Care? Our home, our future, our health. Individuals' Role Small actions, big impact. Governments' Role Laws, policies, global efforts. Sustainable Development Meet needs without harming future.

  9. Ways to Protect the Environment Reduce, Reuse, Recycle Plant More Trees Less waste, more saving. Clean air, healthy planet. Use Eco-Friendly Products Save Energy & Water Choose green options, reduce chemicals. Turn off lights, conserve water.

  10. Conclusion: Our Shared Home Key Points Recap Environment is everything, natural and man-made. Important for life; human impact causes problems. Awareness & Action Understanding is first step. Every small action helps. The Earth is what we all have in common.
