MSG derived products (2/2) • Nowcasting and VSRF SAF: • software for NMSs to generate products including • Rapidly developing thunderstorm product • Stability analysis imagery • Convective rainfall rate • Met Office operational products will include: • Cloud mask, CTH and cloud type (strat/conv)

  9. Availability of MSG products from EUMETSAT • Subject to EUMETSAT data policy • EUMETCast: • All images + some derived products • near real time • GTS: derived products, e.g., winds • Internet: public and closed services (proposed) • UMARF: full imagery + products archive

  12. Rapid scanning service (not MSG) • 10-minute scans from M-6 at 10ºE • Vis, IR and WV • 4-week cycle: • 3w5d continuous rapid scanning • 48h gap for ranging, etc. • Available via EUMETCast • Probably change to 5-minute scans in 2004
