    • 28 August 2002: Launch of MSG-1

    • 17 October 2002: Solid state amplifier problems; commissioning suspended

    • 27 November 2002: Commissioning resumed

    • Apr 03: EUMETCast MSG dissemination trials started

    • Aug 03: Calibrated imagery

    • Dec 03: Validated products

    • Jan 04: MSG-1 moved to 3.3°W

    • Jan 04: MSG operational

  • 10-minute scans from M-6 at 10ºE

  • Vis, IR and WV

  • 4-week cycle:

    • 3w5d continuous rapid scanning

    • 48h gap for ranging, etc.

  • Available via EUMETCast

  • Probably change to 5-minute scans in 2004
