How to find a reputable dog breeder?

Seminole Kennels is now breeding Sheepadoodles exclusively, meaning we are no longer breeding any other breed, and have no intention of adding other breeds. We are moving toward retirement within next few years, good Lord willing, and will be reducing our breeding program by attrition.

  2. Nothing beats a long walk with your dogs on a fresh morning. Or seeing the joy on their faces when you pick up a bowl and they know it’s late I’m in the park. Even relaxing at home feels better in each other’s company. There's an old saying which is certainly true, that dogs repay love you give them tenfold. Before you rush out and get a dog, it’s important to think it through very thoroughly. It can be hard work and it’s a lifetime commitment as your dog will be relying on you for many years to come.

  3. When you want to buy a good pet dog you need to find a reputable breeder and avoid those ones who don’t really care for the for the good breeding practices but are in the market only to make a quick buck. If you are looking for sheepadoodles puppies and dogs for sale in USA directly from a breeder, this means you have high expectation and quality standards for the dog to be your pet. The same must be the case for the breeding facilities, the environment where the dogs have been given birth and live, the breed lines of the parents and also for the professionalism of the breeder.

  4. Look for both parents and see where they are living. If you cannot see both parents, don’t even bother going to see the breeder at all. Sometimes, the father used for the breeding comes from another breeder and can’t be physically present. Just verify the information by asking for the Stud owner’s contact details and getting in touch. When you go to visit a breeder and see the mother and the father, if possible ask for a tour of the house, the garden, the kennels, and so on.

  5. Contact a couple of previous family. Most puppy mills never stay in touch with previous families, they just sell to them and barely reply to emails after that. Therefore, asking for the contact details of a former customer can be lethal with a puppy mill breeder. If your breeder is present on Facebook, turn your stalker mode on and look at their photos and friends. If you can see clients still in touch with them, it’s a great sign.
