  1. HOW TO WICK A COIL with Cotton

  2. Introduction While there are many discussions on how to build the coils for the vaporizer, wicks are often the most ignored part. The right wicking material plays a key role in making or breaking the vaping experience. Even though you don’t consider it much, it is important to know about the wicking technique.

  3. Wicking Materials There are various types of wicking materials and each of these has it perks. There are organic vape cotton, silica, rayon fiber, ekowool and Koh Gen Do, etc. Out of these, the organic cotton is the best option and suitable for all types of builds. However, ensure the wicking material you choose isn’t bleached and comes chemical free. Many vapers suggest that you boil it for 15 minutes before using it to ensure it is safe and clean.

  4. Cotton Measurement The cotton measurement is crucial to ensure you get the right flavor and vapor. Usually, the right cotton needs to be 1.5 to 2 times the width of the coil. However, the length doesn’t actually matter much. Ideally, the vape cotton should be 2 to 3 times the size of the deck you are actually using.

  5. Cotton Tapering Tapering is a technique that has won the vape community largely. In fact, it has become really popular that you can even buy pe-tapered organic cotton for the builds. But don’t waste the money. Tapering cotton is quite simple to get. Just hold the measured wick in the palm of the hands and lightly twist the ends in the opposite direction.

  6. Cotton Feeding In case of cotton feeding, you need to take one end of the hand tapered cotton and insert it into the coil. If the cotton moves slightly through the coil. It maintains enough resistance so that it cannot be pulled easily, it means you have enough cotton. A good way to tell if you have enough cotton is by both the sides.

  7. Cutting To Length To do that simply bend both the sides of the cotton and ensure they touch the base of the topper. Next, press both sides inwards, making a indentation with the fingernail in that cotton. It is better to leave a little extra length. Finally, you must cut each side on the line left by the fingernail.

  8. Cotton Brushing Cotton brushing is not that important, it helps increase the absorbent surface area on each of the sides. In order to brush the cotton, take a small builder’s rod and move to pull the rod through the cotton on either sides( like brushing the hair. You can remove the fuzziness after you have finished.

  9. Cotton Tucking When you are about to do cotton tucking, ensure take one side of the cotton and loop it into the desk. Next, you must repeat the other side. Once you have finished tucking both the sides, poof every side upward slightly with the building tool.
