  1. Some Threats to Azure Security www.nuvento.com

  2. Introduction Microsoft is a leading cloud migration consultant and has a long history in the business world. When opposed to Amazon AWS and Google Cloud, this has resulted in a distinct kind of client profile and threat scenario for Azure.

  3. Account compromise According to a Verizon study, hacked accounts were to blame for 63% of data breaches. Employees' weak login credentials are targeted by hackers, who then exploit them to modify and steal organisational data. Attackers target accounts that do not adhere to identity and access management (IAM) best practises and incorrectly configured security settings on Azure the most.

  4. Insider threats Insider attacks might persist in Azure cloud for a long time without being noticed. Enterprise security risks are caused by malicious and careless employee action, such as an improperly configured Azure migration service or ignoring a crucial security measure. Additionally, privileged and malicious users might pose hazards through hostile activity.

  5. Identity-based attacks When Microsoft's identity management software is designed exclusively for use in the Azure environment, businesses use it across the board. Due of this, the company as a whole is exposed to identity theft attacks. To access private enterprise data, they use the organization's tenant ID.

  6. Uploading sensitive data against regulatory policies Many industry-specific laws and rules that forbid certain data types from being uploaded to the cloud are frequently broken by organisations.

  7. Denial of services (DoS) threats Even though the Azure Marketplace offers a number of DoS security tools and services, it's feasible that a sizable attack may compromise Azure's defence. The platform can be offline as a result of the attack until the attack is stopped.

  8. Blob storage Hackers can easily target the Microsoft ecosystem because of its familiarity. In order to access Office 365 servers and execute a malware-based assault, hackers use SharePoint. After that, a PDF-based phishing attack is conducted and links to pages on the Azure blob storage are used.

  9. More focus on applications than the infrastructure Since Microsoft is concentrating on its Azure applications, only its own applications are protected by its security measures. Enterprises must use extra solutions from third parties for further security enhancements in order to secure the overall infrastructure.
