The highlight of the celebrations was the visit of Mrs. Sudha Murty, acclaimed author, philanthropist, and Chairperson of the Infosys Foundation. Her presence brought warmth, wisdom, and wit, leaving an indelible mark on every student, teacher, and parent. Through her beloved Gopi Diaries, she illustrated that true independence is not merely ceremonial—it is the freedom to choose courage over fear, generosity over indifference, and resilience over despair. She shared delightful tales of Gopi, a sensitive puppy who would even share his favourite food-paneer, with street dogs. Mrs. Murty’s storytelling transcended age and grade. For Junior Schoolers, her words were wrapped in simple stories of care and thoughtfulness, teaching how small gestures— like looking after a pet—can nurture lifelong values. Alumni Story Dhruv Jain, Founder of TOSCEE Class of ‘16 Step By Step Amity University "Everyone has ideas, but success doesn’t come from ideas alone. It comes from the patience to nurture them, the persistence to keep going despite challenges, and the resilience to learn from every Toscee setback. That combination—that steady commitment—is what turns an idea into a winning venture."
“I didn’t set out to follow trends. I set out to shape them”. Looking back, it’s amazing to think that my journey from the classrooms of SBS to co-leading and transforming my family’s business began with small lessons that seemed ordinary at the time. My journey has been anything but linear. From a backbencher discovering his potential, to co- leading and transforming a family business, and now mentoring young innovators, I’ve learned that staying true to your vision, keeping focus, and embracing challenges are what shape I was often more curious about the world outside the classroom than what was in front of me. Yet, the environment at SBS—teachers who never let me give up, a culture of reflection, and the persistence encouraged at every step—taught me lessons that have stayed with me throughout my career. meaningful growth. Through it all, my time at SBS has been the compass guiding me—not just in my career, but in the way challenges, opportunities, and dreams. Every setback became a lesson, every reflection a stepping stone, and every success a reminder of the power of patience persistence. After completing my 12th, I pursued higher studies in Business Administration, but it was my entrepreneurial spark, nurtured during my school years, that guided my path. What began as the challenge of transforming our family business evolved into creating a multi- format retail venture, blending modern design with India’s rich textile heritage. Every decision—from conceptualizing products to negotiating retail spaces—was shaped by patience, reflection, and the courage to try something new. I approach gradually and Returning to the SBS campus recently as a jury member for SBS Shark Tank was a full-circle moment. Sitting across students brimming with ideas, I saw my younger self reflected in them—eager, curious, and sometimes unsure. It reminded me that success is rarely instant; it grows through persistence, focus, and reflection. Self-assured, witty and mature, friendly all in one that’s how I would like to introduce Dhruv. In class he would speak his mind and challenges others by asking probing and provocative questions. Dhruv was quick to understand the topic and could make meaningful connections with real-world situations. He had a natural ability to connect with others and often spent time engaging with people beyond the classroom. I truly appreciate the way he is still connected with his batchmates, fostering a sense of camaraderie. His approach taught me the value of pausing and taking one day at a time. "Even back in Grade 12, Dhruv carried within him a quiet determination that was waiting to unfold. As the Boards approached, became clear — Dhruv grew focused, determined, and unstoppable. From a sports enthusiast who brought humour and energy to the class, to the self-driven, motivated, and accomplished individual he is today, his journey has been truly remarkable. I am not at all surprised by the person he has become and feel proud to have been his teacher." that transformation -Jayita De Academic Faculty - Senior School -Ruchi Mahajan Academic Faculty - Senior School
