Monopoly of Violence gathers a panel of citizens to confront their views on the social order and the legitimacy of the use of force by the State. Mikaël is a doctor on night call. He looks after patients from underprivileged neighbourhoods, as well as drug addicts. Torn between his wife and his mistress, and embroiled in trafficking fraudulent prescriptions, Mikaël is left with no choice: tonight, he has to reclaim control over his life.
