  1. RUBBER PROCESSING MACHINERY MANUFACTURERS IN INDIA: UNDERSTANDING THE ROLE

  2. Compounding (including mixing and milling). Compounding involves the measurement and mixing of raw rubber, process oils and bulk fillers with rubber chemicals in pre- determined amounts. These are called formulations. The rubber compounder can mix up to 200 different chemicals into a variety compositions. Compound is the name for material used to make rubber products by extrusion, moulding, or other methods.

  3. Indian rubber industry • The production of tyres is dependent on rubber. The three main types of rubber used in the production process are natural rubber (NR), synthetic rubber-butadiene (SBR) and polybutadiene (PBR).  • There has been a shift in global tyre manufacturing, with Asia accounting for a larger share of the market in terms of plant counts. Asia hosts approximately 60% of the world's tyre production facilities. India's automotive tyre manufacturing industry consumes approximately 60%. • All rubber is 50%. The automobile industry relies heavily on the Indian tyre sector. The United States and European Union are the main potential export markets. • Ratification by the government of trade agreements with these countries, which could provide concessional tariffs on tyres would be the driving force. India is far from being a saturation point in rubber product usage.

  4. Rubber processing machine industry plays a key role • Equipment used in rubber processing machinery includes equipment for mixing, mixing, shaping, and vulcanizing.  • India's rubber machinery industry produces mixers and mixing mills, calendars, extruders as well as tyre curing presses. It also makes tyre molds, tyre building machine, bias cutters, and injection moulding machines • The Ministry of Heavy Industries (MHI) reports that 19 units are now involved in the production of rubber machinery for the tyre/tube sector
