  1. Causes of Glaucoma in Mumbai A degenerative eye condition called glaucoma is brought on by damage to the optic nerve. The ultimate consequence of this damage is a loss of visual field. Ocular pressure is a prominent warning indicator. A drainage system malfunction can cause fluid to accumulate in the eye, which can lead to a severe build-up of pressure that could damage the optic nerve.
