  1. Rachel Y. Marshall, Esq. Makes the Best Use of Her Work Experiences as Teaching Tools Currently working as Chief Municipal Public Defender, Rachel Y. Marshall, Esq. works to provide education and training to the staff on current legal issues and liaisons with the court administration, judges, and other court personnel. Her responsibilities cover a wide range of duties. Working here since 2020, she reviews and adopts policies and procedures that are consistent with the Administrative Office of the Courts and State of New Jersey Public Defender’s office. She works to resolve court scheduling issues and conflict assignments. In addition, she revises and institutes new office policies post-Covid 19 and formulates new office operations that are internet and virtual court based. Rachel supervises and evaluates the work of attorneys and supports staff. Being the former solo practitioner at The Marshall Law Practice LLC in Newark, Rachel Y. Marshall, Esq. maintained a landlord-tenant practice through the State of New Jersey representing landlords and housing nonprofits in tenant eviction matters. She managed all phases of litigation including depositions, document production, interrogatories, motions, legal trial preparations, and settlement negotiations. Currently working as Adjunct Professor Criminal Law at Union County College, Division of Social Sciences, Business & History, Cranford, NJ, Rachel Y. Marshall, Esq. makes the best use of her work experiences and cases as teaching tools. Regarding her education accreditations, she pursued Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts at Rutgers University, New Brunswick, NJ in 1993. She completed her Juris Doctorate from New York Law School in 1997.
