  1. How to make the most out of the Village Halloween Parade? The Village Halloween Parade is a yearly event that has been happening for over 30 years. It is an event that celebrates the spooky and the macabre, and it has become a tradition in the city of New York. The parade was founded by puppeteer Ralph Lee in 1974. He was born in Brooklyn, but he moved to Manhattan after World War II and started working on children’s television shows. The first parade he organized was in 1973, but it wasn't until 1974 that he made it an annual event.
