  1. VARIOUS FEATURES OF AN OCTAGONAL BLENDER

  2. An octagonal blender is used for the mixing process of granular products and items. In some industries, it is also used for blending and lubrication of products. It is widely used in industries such as pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, food, beverage, plastics, pesticides and chemicals. The blender is used for creating homogenous and thorough mixtures. It is also used for generating dry mixture compounds that are effectively mixed in the blender. Many blenders are equipped with fast paced mixing blades to get the output faster, but fast mixing doesn’t give the best results. Slow mixing enhances the product quality. The octagonal blender mixes the granules thoroughly. The center part of the machine is rectangular in shape. The machine should be manufactured in compliance with the cGMP standard. There are baffles present in the machine that help in efficient mixing and lumping. The machine is equipped with a gearbox and a motor that facilitates the rotation of the shaft. For safety, reeling is provided in the rotating area of the container. The product is discharged using a butterfly valve and a manhole. Loading and unloading of the product is done using a jacking trolley. Some of the blenders are provided with vacuum conveying system that helps in increasing the capacity of the system.

  3. Some of the octagonal blenders also come with in built PLC controls and HMI interface. Conventional octagonal blenders come with variable frequency drive system, but they are not as advanced as a PLC system. In some blenders, vacuum transfer system is also provided to facilitate inline loading and milling. The machines are incorporated with emergency buttons to stop the process in case of failure or emergency. The machine parts are usually made up of stainless steel that prevents the parts from getting corroded from moisture.
