  1. Finding Your Breast Cancer Community From your initial diagnosis to your time celebrating being cancer-free, a strong breast cancer community will provide you with love and support throughout this life event. This consistent help can benefit your physical and mental health; for example: The groups and individuals you meet with can support your physical health by giving you the resources needed to manage the physical effects of treatment. They may also help you customize an ideal exercise plan. ● Many women struggle with grief, anger, anxiety, depression, and lowered self-esteem during breast cancer. A supportive community can provide a place to work through this, which can help improve mental health. ● If you are not sure where you can find your community, here are a few sources where you can find support: Members of Your Oklahoma Breast Health Network The doctors, nurses, and other members of your healthcare team view your health and well-being as a top priority. These professionals will provide treatments, guidance, and advice. In addition to these members of your Oklahoma breast health network, the social workers at your local hospital can share information on helpful resources, support groups, and more. Your Friends, Family, and Any Other Loved Ones Whether you need help with household chores, transportation for your kids, or someone to talk to, your loved ones can provide you with much-needed and deserved emotional support and practical help. Many people in your personal community can support you through breast cancer, including your spouse, children, parents, friends, neighbors, and coworkers. Survivors You Meet in Cancer Support Groups OKC Sometimes, you just need to talk and spend time with people who truly understand what you are going through. As such, the people you meet during cancer support groups OKC are a wonderful addition to your community. You can find these in-person and online groups by checking your hospital’s resources, searching online, and asking other patients and survivors. Build Your Breast Cancer Community with Project31!
