  2. In vitro fertilization is referred to as IVF. One of the more well-known applications of assisted reproductive technology is this one (ART). In order to help sperm fertilize an egg and the fertilized egg implant in your uterus, in vitro fertilization (IVF) uses a combination of medications and surgical procedures. You first take a medication that matures several of your eggs and makes them fertile. The eggs are then removed from your body and combined with sperm in a lab to aid in the fertilization of the eggs by the sperm. Following that, they place one or more fertilized eggs (embryos) inside your uterus. If any of the embryos implant in the lining of your uterus, pregnancy results. IVF is a lengthy procedure that takes several months to complete. Although it occasionally succeeds on the first attempt, many women require more than one round of IVF to become pregnant. If you’re having fertility issues, IVF will definitely increase your chances of getting pregnant, but there’s no guarantee since every person’s body is unique and IVF Success won’t happen for everyone.

  3. Steps in IVF Treatment Using fertility drugs for several months to encourage the production of several mature eggs that are prepared for fertilization is the first step in In Vitro Fertilization. Ovulation induction is what this is known as. To monitor your hormone levels and egg production, you may undergo routine ultrasounds or blood tests. Your doctor starts Retrieving Eggs that have matured from your body once your ovaries have produced enough of them (this is called egg retrieval). A minor surgical procedure called egg retrieval can be performed at a fertility clinic or in your doctor’s office. You will be given medication to make you more at ease and relaxed during the procedure. The doctor inserts a tiny, hollow tube into your ovary and the follicles that house your eggs using ultrasound to view inside your body. The eggs are carefully extracted from each follicle using a suction device that is connected to the needle. Insemination is the process of combining your eggs with donor or partner sperm cells in a laboratory. Fertilization IVF takes place while the eggs and sperm are kept together in a special container. To encourage fertilization, sperm with lower motility — sperm that can’t swim as well — can be injected right into the eggs. People who work in the lab keep track of the development as the cells in the fertilized eggs divide and develop into embryos.

  4. One or more embryos are implanted into your uterus about three to five days after the egg retrieval (this is called embryo transfer). The embryo is inserted into your uterus through a thin tube that the doctor inserts directly through your cervix. If even one of the embryos connects to the uterine lining, pregnancy results. Embryo transfers are performed in a fertility clinic or at your doctor’s office, and they are typically painless. After your embryo transfer, schedule time to relax for the remainder of the day. The next day, you can resume your regular activities. For the first 8–10 weeks following the embryo transfer, you may also be prescribed progesterone pills or receive daily injections. The embryo has an easier time surviving in your uterus thanks to the hormones. Conclusion IVF Process is chosen by people for a variety of reasons, such as infertility problems or when one partner has a pre-existing medical condition. Some people will try IVF if other Fertility Treatmenthasn’t worked for them or if they’re past the prime of pregnancy.
