  1. 10 Basics Healthy Lifestyle Practices “To keep the body in good health is a duty…otherwise we shall not be able to keep the mind strong and clear.” – Buddha. Lord Buddha rightly said our sole duty is to keep our overall strong and maintained. However, a sedentary lifestyle has brought drastic changes in lifestyle. These changes are not what support the HealthiWealthi life of a human being. This blog post has shared 10 basic healthy lifestyle practices that you must incorporate in your daily life. ● Add Variety to Your Meals To lead a healthy life, one must incorporate a range of food in your meal, such as fruit, vegetables, legumes, nuts, seeds, and whole grains. Try to have a minimum of 5 servings (400 grams) of fruits and vegetables daily, especially fresh and seasonal ones. If you are non-vegetarian, include fish in your diet, as it contains omega-3 fatty acids that prevent inflammatory diseases such as heart diseases. ● Protect Yourself From the Sun Frequent and long-term sun exposure can increase the risk of skin-related issues. Avoid staying in direct contact with the sun for a long time, and if you are getting exposed to the sun, ensure to safeguard yourself from the sun’s rays with sunscreen and long-sleeved clothes when you are outdoors.

  2. Manage Your Stress Stress is known to trigger several illnesses such as migraines and heart problems. Stress is a parasite, and often we don’t realise how it can disrupt our well-being both physically and mentally. Finding ways to alleviate stress, whether watching a funny movie, painting, going for a stroll, gardening, listening to music, or soaking in a bubble bath, can help you. Another effective way is to stay away from negative thoughts and people. ● Wash Your Hands Washing your hands frequently with soap and water or using an alcohol-based sanitizer could be simple to keep infection at bay. Don’t forget to wash your hands before having meals throughout the day, after dumping household waste, and after finishing household chores. ● Daily Breakfast Eating a healthy breakfast each day will give you the powerhouse of energy. This is the right amount of energy that you need for the kickstart of your day. Having a filling breakfast will also help manage weight and improve the concentration you require to carry on the tasks throughout the day. Try to make a meal using carbs, protein, low-fat dairy, and fruits or vegetables. You can also have fruit with oatmeal, whole-grain cereal, or an egg omelette loaded with vegetables. ● Avoid Sugar-Filled Drinks Beverages like sweetened iced tea, non-diet soda, and so-called sports drinks are packed with calories and non-beneficial nutrients. Instead of these aerated drinks, try increasing water intake and incorporating healthy options such as milk, unsweetened tea, and sugar-free coffee drinks to satisfy your thirst without additional sugar or weight gain. ● Get Into a Physical Activity Physical activity is crucial for healthy living and helps build muscle, manage weight, and forestall disease. You can stay active by indulging yourself in dancing, joining a sports team, going for a walk, playing basketball with friends, or doing yoga. These physical activities can help you stay fit and healthy. ● Get More Sleep Sound sleep helps in boosting mood, keeps you focused and alert, and supports healthy growth and development. On average, a normal person must have 8 to 10 hours of sleep at nighttime. If you have trouble falling asleep in the dark, try turning off your phone and computer an hour before bed. Develop a soothing bedtime ritual, like reading a book, or you can do some light exercising. ● Get Moving

  3. Doing a cardiopulmonary exercise or cardio is one of the most effective things for your mental and physical health. It’s particularly effective at reducing belly fat, the harmful form of fat that builds up around your organs. Reduced belly fat may cause significant improvements in your metabolic health. ● Occasionally Track Your Food Intake It would be better if you knew the total number of calories you need to consume daily. It is one of the best ways to check what you eat and the nutrition in the meal. Tracking may also provide insights into your protein, fibre, and micronutrient intake. According to some recent studies a strong link has been found between tracking calories and disordered eating tendencies. Resulting from that people who track their food intake tend to be more successful at losing weight and maintaining their weight loss.
