  1. SIKHISM

  2. Sikhs follow the teaching of gurus. The word Guru is tittle which is often used in India for religious teachers.

  3. Ten Gurus were important to the foundation of Sikhism, the first Guru is Guru Nanak, he was born in Punjab in 1469. The holy book is called Guru Granth Sahib ji . Granth means a large book. Sahib means respect.

  4. The Gurdwara is the sikh place of worship. It means Gods door. Har Mandir Sahib, known as the Golden temple is the holiest for the sikhs. The entire upper was inlaid with copper covered over by gold plate.

  5. The Khalsa is a name given to the membership of the brotherhood of sikhs. The male members of the khalsa take the name SINGH which means lion and the female members take name KAUR which means princesses. brotherhood of sikhs.
