  1. Basics You Need to Know About Telehealth It’s exciting to see the progress of telehealth. The virtual care has advanced from a curious form of clinical communication to a mainstay in a way consumers and providers interact. While there's no standard definition for this, the term itself can evoke a limited view of what it can do. Until recently, what was called telemedicine now encompasses a much broader array of technologies and services – AI. Benefits of Telehealth: • Efficiency of cost Containing or reducing the healthcare cost is one of the strongest motivators to adopt and fund virtual care technologies. It reduces the health care cost and increases efficiency with better management of shared health professional staffing, chronic diseases, shorter hospital stays, and reduced travel times. • Improved access: Since its inception, it has been used to bring the services of health care to customers in distant locations. It does not only improve consumer access, but it also extends the expertise of physicians and health facilities and geographical reach. • Consumer demand: Its more significant impact is on the consumers, community, and family. Using the technologies reduces travel time and related stresses for the consumer. For the past 15 years, various studies have documented the satisfaction of the consumer and support for these services. Consumers get access to providers that might not be available otherwise. • Improvement in quality: Studies have shown that the quality of healthcare services delivered via telehealthis as good as the ones given in traditional in-person consultations. • Services offered by Telehealth: Telehealth is understood the best in terms of the services offered and the mechanisms used to provide the services. These are the examples: • Live video conferencing: The delivery of an interactive and live consultation between specialist health services and primary care. Store and forward: The transmission of vital signs, diagnostic images, and video clips • • Patient monitoring remotely: Uses devices to remotely collect and send data to a remote diagnostic testing facility for interpretation. Is telehealth safe? Data from a survey of healthcare providers found that telehealthcan improve the experience of a patient. 90% of physicians see the benefits of virtual care, especially regarding patient satisfaction, experience and communication improvement.
