  1. How to Take Care of Faux Fur Faux fur, which is sometimes called fake fur, is a material that you can find on a lot of clothes, furniture, and other things around the house. How to clean your fake fur after you've used it. You don't have to work too hard to keep your fake fur looking great. Machine Washing Faux Fur Look at the tag. Most things, including fake fur, will have tags that tell you how to clean fur them. It's up to you if you want to follow these rules to the letter or not, but they will have important tips for you to notice. •The tag should tell you if you can wash it by itself, if colorsours will run, or if you should only wash it with other items of the same colour. •The tag may have standard symbols that tell you how to take care of the item. •Use the information on the tag to figure out what to do next. Put the fake fur in the washing machine. If it's a piece of clothing, you should turn it inside out. This will make the fur last longer. Put it in the machine with care and nothing else. Use the right settings on the washer. Put the washing machine on the delicate wash cycle and use cold water. Turn on the machine and put a mild detergent in it. Even if you're using a washing machine, you might want to use a gentle detergent made for hand washing. [2]

  2. •Use the setting that makes the machine spin with the least amount of shaking. •When the rinse cycle starts, add fabric softener and rinse with cold water. Take out the item with the fake fur. When the wash cycle is done, take the item out. Shake it to make the fake fur fluff up and help get rid of any extra water. •Try rolling the item in a thick towel to soak up any extra water. •Pull the item back into the shape and size it was before. Take care to do this so you don't hurt it.
