  2. Hydrosphere - • The water layer of the earth's surface; includes water vapor “All of the Water found in Earth”

  3. Distribution of Water on Earth

  4. River- a large natural stream of water, It is often a perennial water body and usually flows in a specific channel, with a considerable volume of water.

  5. Stream- a natural body of running water flowing on or under the earth

  6. Lake- a body of (usually fresh) water surrounded by land or any accumulation of water surrounded by land.

  7. Pond A pond is a small lake, most often in a natural depression. Like a stream

  8. Sea a division of an ocean or a large body of salt water partially enclosed by land

  9. Ocean a large body of water constituting a principal part of the hydrosphere.

  10. Bay A bay is a body of water that is partly enclosed by land

  11. Gulf- A gulf is a part of the ocean (or sea) that is partly surrounded by land (it is usually larger than a bay).

  12. Estuary An estuary is where a river meets the sea or ocean.

  13. Back water- a body of water that was created by a flood or tide or by being held or forced back by a dam

  14. Strait- A strait is a narrow body of water that connects two larger bodies of water.

  15. Fjord- A fjord is a long, narrow sea inlet that is bordered by steep cliffs.

  16. Creek - a small stream

  17. Lagoon a body of comparatively shallow salt or brackish water separated from the deeper sea by a shallow or exposed sandbank, coral reef, or similar feature.

  18. Territorial water the waters surrounding a nation and its territories over which that nation exercises sovereign jurisdiction

  19. High Sea- the open seas of the world outside the territorial waters of any nation

  20. Mid water The water that is well below the surface but also well above the bottom; "many marine fishes inhabit the mid-waters
