    • If they are confused, they reread, visualize, read ahead, summarize, visualize, slow down, or ask for help!

  • This is the reason an author writes something.
  • Authors write to:
    • Inform: If they want to give facts about something
    • Persuade: If they want the reader to agree with their opinions or want the reader to take action
    • Entertain: If they want their readers to think the story is funny, interesting, or suspenseful
