Future Strategies • Increasing productivity through technological interventions. • Emphasis on irrigation through Shallow Tube Wells will continue to bring more areas under assured irrigation. • Additional 22,000 hectares will be brought under Hybrid Rice cultivation during 2011-12. • Emphasis on mechanization to assure farm power availability of 0.80 HP per hectare at the end of 11th Plan Period. • Extension through training & demonstration will be strengthened further. • Bankers will be persuaded to extend credit to farmers in bigger way.
