  3. Types of Blood Cancer Types of Blood Cancer Blood cancer can be classified into three types namely, 1. Leukemia- rate of blood formation reduces 2. Lyphoma- white blood corpuscles are affected 3. Mylemoa-occurs when the formation of plasma can be hampered by cancer cells.

  4. Symptoms Symptoms ⬜ Tremendous weakness and fatigue ⬜ Unexplained weight loss ⬜ Abnormal blood reports ⬜ Swollen lymph nodes ⬜ Chronic infection

  5. Treatment Modalities Treatment Modalities Blood cancer can be treated by using three different approaches including, ⬜ Intensive treatment ⬜ Non-intensive treatment ⬜ Non-curative treatment

Intensive Approach Intensive Approach Intensive treatment approach includes following methods: ⬜ High-dose chemotherapy (in which the patient is given high-dose drugs either orally or intravenously to kill leukemia cells). ⬜ Radiation therapy(in which, leukemia cells can be destroyed and further growth can be stopped with the help of high energy radiation). ⬜ Stem cell transplantation( in which the entire bone marrow of the patient is replaced), ⬜ Immune therapy and targeted therapy.

  7. Non-Intensive Approach Non-Intensive Approach Non-intensive treatment approach include methods such as: ⬜ Low-dose chemotherapy ⬜ Immunotherapies

Non-curative approach Non-curative approach The non-curative approach is used when the operating medical team are of the view that the patient to be treated will not be able to cope with strong treatments. In such cases, the patient is advised to undergo a gentler approach that allows for faster recovery and better quality of life.
