  1. Blog1: Makingsense-sg.com WHAT IS IN CHEMISTRY’S O LEVEL? Chemistry is believed to be the basis of every other subject in one way or the other. Chemistry contains the basis of every object on this earth and is the building block of every theory in science. This subject is taught in all schools form the initial stages, keeping into consideration the vast scope it has in the outer world and the coming future. The subject is divided into two levels as per the global standards, the “O” level chemistry and the “A” level chemistry. The “O level is the initial level or the orientation level, and the “A” level is the advanced level of the subject. It is but obvious that the “O” level is taught at the early stage and the “A” level is taught at the later stage. Coming on to the chemistry’s “O” level, this level is for the beginners. And therefore it contains all topics, which are necessary to be studied at the early stage. Here is a list of the topics which are covered under the chemistry’s “O” level. The first unit consists of experimental chemistry which gives the students an insight into the world of ions and gases. The sub-topics covered under this are the experimental designs and the methods of purification and analysis. The next topic in chemistry’s “O” level is the atomic structure and the STOI chemistry. This topic teaches about the matter in-depth. The sub-topics covered in this are Kinetic particle theory, the structure of the atoms, ionic bonding, metallic bonding, STOI chemistry, and the mole concept. The third unit is about reactions and gives an insight into the reactions between the acids, salts, and basis. It also covers the speed of the reactions and other chemical analysis. The periodic table also holds an important place in the chemistry’s “O” level. And this topic covers group properties and other periodic trends. Other topics which come under chemistry’s “O” level are the atmosphere and organic chemistry. With the above-stated list of topics, the structure of “O” level chemistry would be clear to the student.
