  1. RURAL YOUTH AGENTS ESC Individual Volunteer project El Borge, Málaga 12 Months! Starting from November 2025 Searching for Volunteers!

  2. COMPLETE INFOPACK Asociacion Almenaras: The association is dedicated to promoting and developing activities for young people in Axarquía, a rural region of Malaga. Its main mission is to encourage the active participation of youth in the community by offering a variety of programs and events that range from cultural and sports activities to educational and social projects. The association strives to create an inclusive and collaborative environment where young people can acquire new skills, make friends, and contribute positively to society. Additionally, Almenaras has extensive experience in Erasmus+ projects and promoting volunteerism.

  3. WORK TASKS The work tasks will vary, including supporting small projects in which we are involved in the town, assisting with our Erasmus projects coordinated in El Borge and other towns, participating in the initiatives of El Borge, and creating your own small personal projects related to our rural youth. Some examples of specific activities: 1) When helping us to coordinate projects: Assisting in the creation of project calls. Leading workshops on topics of your interest. Supporting communication and dissemination activities. Participating in logistical activities. And if you feel brave enough, even writing your own projects! We expect to have between 2 to 3 activities per year (youth exchanges and training courses).

WORK TASKS 2) School Support – Helping Almenaras in its cooperation with the local school Classroom assistance & music support – Join the music lessons, take part in rehearsals, and help children prepare songs for school events. Preparing learning materials – worksheets and handmade games, cutting out shapes, writing components for game cards, and designing other tools for learning. Classroom decoration & event preparation – Especially for events like Peace Day, Andalusia Day, or cultural weeks. Proposing alternative free-time activities for breaks

  5. WORK TASKS 3) Help us with our artistic youth club Volunteers support the youth club, mainly helping with the preparation and communication of art lessons. They plan lesson content, make a list of materials, and design posters to inform parents. They also prepare Instagram posts (before and after the session), edit pictures, create stories/reels, and showcase results. Additionally, they have space to bring their own creative ideas for activities with the kids of the town.

WORK TASKS 4) Participating in the different events and activities promoted by the city council and Asociacion El Pasero To help in the management of the “El Bandolero” Museum To support the famous “El Día de la Pasa.” To be part of the new and growing “Día de las Ánimas.” To participate in the Cultural Week of El Borge. To assist with the various touristic events promoted by the municipality. To help manage groups of tourists, organize and guide visits in the village, and learn about local history and traditions to share with visitors. Romería de San Isidro (Semana Santa and Fiestas de San Gabriel).

  7. WORK TASKS 5) Create your own small projects/initiatives, as can be: Informal and non-formal language workshops. Non-formal cultural engagement workshops, presenting your culture to the community. Personal projects related to youth. Film forums. Solidarity actions in collaboration with local youth (such as information campaigns, waste collection, etc.). Promotion and facilitation of intergenerational activities.

PARTICIPANTS PROFILES We are seeking motivated young people (18–30 years old) from European countries who want to live in a small Andalusian village and contribute to the cultural, educational, and social life of El Borge. Who can apply? Participants are young people seeking new opportunities in their lives. Volunteers may be unemployed or facing educational, economic, social, or physical challenges, or have low language skills. No previous experience is necessary — just curiosity, motivation, and the desire to try it out and learn more! What kind of person are we looking for? Friendly, respectful, and positive – enjoys meeting new people and being part of a community. Open-minded and adaptable – ready to learn about Spanish culture, rural life, and take on different tasks. Creative and proactive – likes to bring new ideas, organize activities, and take initiative. Team player – can cooperate with others, but also work independently when needed.

  9. PARTICIPANTS PROFILES Skills & Interests (not mandatory, but very welcome!) Education & childcare – supporting teachers, preparing activities, decorating spaces, playing with children. Artistic & creative – drawing, painting, crafts, ceramics, or music. Musical ability – especially piano or any other instrument (this year we are especially interested in someone musical!). Manual skills – woodwork, painting, arts & crafts. Digital & media – social media posts, video production, podcasts, poster design. Culture & tourism – learning about local history and traditions, helping with events or guided tours. Initiative – motivated to create their own projects and activities. Practical Qualities Basic English required; basic Spanish strongly recommended to connect with locals and children. Comfortable with small village life and outdoor activities (harvest, playground supervision, village celebrations). Willing to take part in traditional Andalusian life (Semana Santa, Día de la Pasa, Romería, Christmas, etc.). Motivation We want volunteers who are eager to: Grow personally and professionally through non-formal learning. Contribute to the local community while gaining experience in education, art, culture, tourism, and project management. Live a unique cultural experience in a traditional Andalusian mountain village.

  10. EL BORGE You will live in El Borge, a charming village located in the Axarquía region of the province of Málaga, Spain. El Borge embodies the traditional Andalusian rural lifestyle. The village is situated in a mountainous area, providing stunning views of the surrounding landscape, which is dotted with vineyards, olive groves, and citrus orchards. El Borge is famous for its production of raisins, and it celebrates this heritage with the annual “Día de la Pasa” (Day of the Raisin) festival, which attracts visitors from all over to enjoy local music, food, and cultural activities.

  14. SOCIAL ACTORS You will collaborate with different social actors of el Borge, to mention the main ones: Council of El Borge: Support for local actions such as celebrations and events. The council will also provide us with space for workshops. Association El Pasero Our local partner, which will connect us with the local reality of El Borge. School of El Borge: We will workshops for children with the objective of promoting healthy lifestyles and interculturality! conduct various The Sarmiento Museum: A local museum that needs help to digitize itself and maintain its beautiful gardens!

  15. CONDITIONS Volunteering Hours: The volunteer will work 5 days a week, approximately 30-35 hours. Volunteering hours may be in the mornings or afternoons, depending on the activities. Additionally, there will be basic Spanish immersion lessons and mentoring sessions. Volunteering Days: The volunteering days will mainly be from Wednesday to Sunday. Monday and Tuesday will be resting days. Financial Conditions: Food Allowance: Volunteers will receive 200 € per month to self- manage their own food. The flats will have cooking facilities available. Pocket Money: Volunteers will receive 6 € per day (180 € per month) for personal expenses. Travel Budget: Approximately 360 € will be allocated per volunteer, to be discussed individually. Health Insurance: Included for the duration of the volunteering period. Trips and Leisure Activities: Some trips and leisure activities will be organized. Vacation: Volunteers will have 2 vacation days per month (being a total of 24 days for a mobility of 12 months).

Nearest Airports: Malaga airport (AGP) Sevilla airport (SVQ) Upon arrival at Malaga airport (AGP), we will provide individual support to help you reach El Borge. After that confirmation, we recommend you to not wait a lot of time to buy your tickets, because prices increase dramatically closer to departure day. your travel itinerary to What to bring along: Comfortable clothes are recommended. The weather can vary along the year: from 8ºC in winter nights to 33ºC in summer days. European Health Insurance Card (very important, you will need it if you need to visit a health center or hospital!) Personal medication and hygiene products Something typical from your country to share during the international evening (music, songs, dances, traditional food, etc.)

  17. PROJECT STAFF Monika Mitina (she/her) Youth worker and artist. She will be your main supervisor and assign your primary tasks. Monika has been with Almenaras since 2022 and serves as the principal coordinator of our artistic projects. Javier Savariego (he/him) Project manager in Almenaras. He will be responsible of monitoring and providing support in learning processes. Aitor Rando (he/him) President of Almenaras and main coordinator. He will support you with practical matters and participate in activity development. Ezequiel Moya (he/him) President of El Pasero and the main local contact in El Borge. He will provide an introduction to the local context of this wonderful town.
