  2. What is Hemophilia? Hemophilia is not really a single disease; it is really a rare group of bleeding disorders in which the normal clotting function in of blood is severely reduced. Genetically linked, the disease is typically caused by a missing clotting factor, usually factor FVIII, or FIX. All bleeding disorders are caused by flaws within the body’s clotting system. People with bleeding disorders like hemophilia do not really bleed faster than other people, they just do not stop bleeding the way that others do.

  3. What are the symptoms of Hemophilia? Easy bruising and or large unexplained bruises• Joint pain, joint swelling or tightness• Spontaneous, unexplained bleeding• Blood in stools or urine• Nosebleeds without an obvious cause• Excessive or exaggerated bleeding from minor cuts orafter dental work or surgery• Excessive irritability in infants with unexplained bruises• Unusual bleeding after vaccinations
