1. Buying Hard Shell Packing Cases Some manufacturing goods such as delicate medical goods, or expensive instruments may need to be shipped in a hard shell packing case. These are not un-similar in style to those that you will see used at rock concerts for transporting electrical equipment and instruments. Whilst they are far more expensive to buy in the first place than a simple cardboard box, they have the advantage in that they are totally re-usable time after time, and will give many years of useful life. Indeed those used to transport delicate electronic items may well out last most of us. They come in a variety of forms, however the best ones are made in aluminium as not only is it very strong, it is extremely light in weight. The fact that it is so light, makes it the ideal packing case choice for shipping expensive or delicate items a long distance via airfreight. The lightweight nature of such a case will keep airfreight costs down. You can purchase cheaper variants of hard shell cases, which are made of wood, but have aluminium hinges and protection on all of their edges for added durability. The partially wooden construction does mean that they will be heavier though. Although in general when these are used for transporting goods from as an example, one rock concert to another, they will travel by road and not air, and thus the weight is less of an issue. These hard shell packing cases come in all sizes and shapes, and when used to send out goods by a manufacturer, the customer will be required to ship the empty packing case back to them for re-use.
