  1. Good morning everyone,Myself Ankit from class 6a today I am giving you presentation of chapter 7 in science.

  2. Chapter 7 Getting To Know plants Topic 1 - Herbs, Shrubs and Tree 1.1 (Herbs) Plant with green and tender stem are called herbs. They are usually short and may not have any branches. 1.2 (Shrubs) Some plant develops branches near the base of stem. The stem is hard but not very thick such plant are called herbs. 1.3 (Trees) Some plant are very tall and have hard and thick stem. The stem have branches in the upper part, much above the ground such plant are called tree.

  3. Topic 2 – Creepers and Climbers 2.1(Creepers) Plant with weak stem that cannot stand upright but spread on the ground are called creepers. Example- watermelon 2.2( Climbers) Climbers take supports and climb up are called climbers. Example- money plant

  4. Topic 3- Leaf ①The part of leaf by which it is attached to the stem is called petiole. ②The broad green part of leaf is called lamina. ③These lines on the leaf are called veins. ④The prominent line in the middle of the leaf is called midrib. ⑤The design made by veins in a leaf is called the leaf venation. There are two types of leaf venation:- a) If the design is net-like on both side of midrib, the venation is reticulate venation. b) The leaves of grass in which veins are parallel to one another, this is called parallel venation.

  5. Topic-4 Roots A root is a underground part of a plant. It helps plant to absorb minerals and water from the soil. Roots have two kinds:- a)The main root is called tap root and the smaller root are called lateral roots. b) Which do not have a main root. All roots are similar and they are called fibrous roots.

  6. Topic 5 - Flower Flower is defined as the part of plant that is often brightly colored. Every plant has different type of flower . In a flower there are many parts that are following:- a) The prominent part of the open flower these are called petals. b) The small leaf like structures in a flower is called sepals. c) The male part of a flower is called stamen. It also produces pollen. It has two parts:- anther and filament. d) The inner most part of flower is called the pistil. It has three parts:- stigma, style and ovary.
